Freak Fortress Mayhem Server

Mar 06, 2015 - 1:28 AM - by Roker

The Team Fortress Division is happy to announce our newest server! This server combines two awesome mods of Team Fortress: the popular mod Freak Fortress and Reflex's very own Mayhem weapon stats. Because of the inherent differences between Freak Fortress and standard Team Fortress, many weapons will be further modified from their 10x Mayhem counterparts to help them fit into the Freak Fortress environment. The server is in it's premature stages, so many features will be added as the server progresses.

As the server continues to grow, we are open to all suggestions on any aspects of the server, new bosses, weapon changes, maps you name it. If you have any suggestions head over to the dedicated Freak Fortress suggestion thread and let us know.

Leadership Applications

Jan 26, 2015 - 1:34 AM - by Roker

As Reflex's member base grows we are provided with opportunities to create a more involved community. This means that we are currently looking for members to fill Leadership roles. There are four Leadership positions available: Recruitment and Events Coordinator Advisors for both the Counter Strike and Team Fortress divisions. These positions are outlined below.

Recruitment Advisor
An advisor in this position will be in charge of increasing the quality and quantity of recruiting in his or her division, as well as ensuring that all new members feel welcome in the community. He or she will also meet with others in the division regularly to discuss recruiting strategies that the whole community can use to bring in new members.

Events Coordinator Advisor
An Advisor in this position will be in charge of planning and hosting events in his or her division for the purpose of promoting a higher sense of community in RXG. The long term goal of this position is to create an Events Coordinator team capable of running several events per week.

Although the primary focus of these positions are recruitment and events respectively, the promotees will still gain the communal Advisor responsibilities, such as responding to the Contact Leadership forum, helping to promote admins and more. With that said, we ask all admins considering applying to make sure they have the time available to make the commitment, as we have our sights set high for these programs moving into the future.

For more information about exactly what leadership does check out our "Meet the Leadership" post.

Once again, each of these positions are available in both the Counter Strike and Team Fortress divisions, and are meant for Full Admins only. However, if there are any Basic Admins who feel they are capable of filling these roles, they are welcome to apply too. Finally, it is important that those who apply to these positions have a good work ethic, a strong understanding of RXG's rules, and a commitment to professionalism. Thank you, and we look forward to reviewing your applications.

Finance Update

Oct 24, 2014 - 10:37 AM - by Roker

Reflex Gamers has been accepting donations as its main source of income since its inception, and without them would quickly cease to exist. With this in mind, the founders and leadership of Reflex have always attempted to be as transparent as possible with our finances. All of our expenses are listed in our donation funding post, recently relocated to the info forum located on the navigation bar. With this sentiment asserted, let's get down to business.

You may have recently noticed the donation goal drop from $215 to $175. There are a couple of reasons for this change, and none of them involve less servers. The first reason is a drop in spending due to a drop in pricing of our dedicated server. Our dedicated server is now over a year old, and as time goes on it gets cheaper to accomplish the same thing. This means we have enjoyed a few price drops on our dedicated server, lowering our costs but keeping the same resources. The second reason is advertising. We have managed to create a reliable advertising income using our website and servers, and as such can safely assume a monthly income. This means we can rely a little less on donations to pay for our servers.

We hope this update will be a nice reminder of where your donations go and that you remain confident in the Reflex leadership.
